Which is the best time of the year to visit
Valencia?
Although its benign climate allows the tourism the year
throughout, the best time to visit Valencia is, without a doubt, from
March to September. If you want to live the "fallas", you will have
to come between the 15th and the 19th of March.
In order to enjoy beaches,
the best time is from June to September.
Where could I eat authentic
Valencian paella?
Most of the valence restaurants have an important
set of rice dishes, and practically all include the paella between
their plates. You should know that the Valencian paella
does not contain seafood between its ingredients, only
vegetables, meat (chicken and rabbit) and rice. Consult our section
of Gastronomy to obtain a recipe of the Valencian
paella.
We recommended the restaurants of the Stroll of Neptune, in
the Beach of the Malvarrosa, and those of the Palmar,
town of fishermen located in the Lagoon (Natural Park located at 10
km from Valencia). As much in the Malvarrosa as in the Palmar, You
will be able to take a delicious paella and, simultaneously, to enjoy
the landscape.
How to find lodging in fallas?
If you plan
to visit Valencia in fallas, look for lodging with enough advance.
In February already you will have difficulties to choose. If you don't
find lodging in Valencia, I advise you to look for room
in Cullera, located coastal population at 30 km
from Valencia, and very well communicated by train, that at time
of fallas has a very extensive schedule. In a passage of half an
hour, you will arrive with the train from neighborhoods at downtown.
You will save traffic problems (in fallas is impossible to drive)
and you'll be able to rest at night, very difficult thing in Valencia.
And step, you will be able to enjoy the beach of Cullera.
Is Valencia a safe city?
Valencia is a safe city, but be cautious, you must watch your bags,
cameras and valuables objects, because the tourists are
a pole of attraction for the pickpockets and thieves. Don't
leave anything of value in the car and pay attention in the agglomerations,
because the multitudes attract the pickpockets.
What
beaches do you recommend?
In the first place, the Malvarrosa Beach,
by its very long marine stroll, its amplitude, the services
that offer (restaurants, showers, recreation zones, rescue), by
its proximity to the city, and the tranquillity of its waters.
And
also, the Saler Beach, because is a protected
natural space, so it conserves the aspect of a virgin beach, with dunes
and the typical vegetation of the coastal zone. The Saler is
10 km away from Valencia, in South direction. |
